Betadine cream is an antiseptic combination. It works by killing sensitive bacteria. Generally, it can be used to treat vaginitis or other mixed infections in that area of the body. It can also be used to treat wounds and infections from bacteria.
Clean the affected area. Apply a small amount of Betadine gel to the affected area. The area may be left uncovered, or you may cover it with a sterile bandage.
Betadine is for external use only. Do not get Betadine in your eyes. Do not use Betadine over large areas of the body or for more than 1 week unless advised to do so by your doctor. If the wound you plan to use Betadine on is very deep or it is an open fire burn, medical practitioners advice against the use of this medication. Contact your doctor before using Betadine cream on serious burns, deep wounds, or puncture wounds. Betadine Gel can be used while on your period, so it is advisable to continue treatment, even when menstruation starts. We all know that when it comes to issues involving women, it is always best to deal with these issues before they even fully arise.
Pregnant women or women still breastfeeding are advised not to use Betadine. Do not use this medication if you have had a severe allergic reaction to Betadine or a medicine that contains iodine.
